Free Wind Energy

Saving energy and recycling makes perfect sense, and it's no surprise that there are now companies devoting themselves to green electronics and energy sustainability. After all, it's good PR and makes economic sense. But it goes farther than that. There are now even companies that sell both digital electronics AND renewable energy products. It's easy to see how a firm belief in renewable energy, conservation and sound energy policies may drive an environmentally conscious business owner to sell items like solar and wind energy products as well as digital electronics made by companies that have realized that business and society are interdependent and thus embraced green technology.

Why wind energy?

Wind power is a tremendous renewable energy source. Every country has wind, so supply is not a problem. The conversion of wind energy to electricity produces no pollution, another positive in our environmentally stressed world. For environmentalist, however, there is a quandary.

Using the wind to harness energy from our environment is hardly a new concept. Ancient Persians are believed to have been the first group to use windmills to turn grain grinding machines. The Dutch, of course, are also famous for their windmills and so on. In modern days, however, wind energy platforms are much more refined and used primarily for energy production.

There are a number of reasons why wind power is part of our energy solution. First, it produces no pollution or greenhouse gases. Second, it is renewable and will last for as long as our son - about another four billion years. Third, wind energy is available in practically any country, which means no reliance on foreign sources. Fourth, wind power produces more jobs per watt produced than all other energy platforms, including oil and coal.

What makes a good Wind Generator?

As the name suggests a wind generator is the power source, which converts the wind energy into electricity. This generator is winning the faith of the people as a reliable mode of producing energy for homes and other applications. To charge batteries and to provide a reliable stand-alone power source where grid power is not available, small wind generators or turbines are useful.

Wind farms are large collections of wind turbines, all located in the same place, that are generating electricity. In the UK, wind farms are controlled by the British wind energy Association. The BWEA operates 127 wind farms with 1618 turbines all over the UK. These wind farms produce 1694.55 megawatts of electricity annually, which is enough electricity to power 947,506 homes a year. Think about that for a minute. The wind farm project produces enough energy to power a fairly large city.

These wind farms are incredibly safe compared to other energy sources with no recorded public injuries by wind turbine since the introduction of wind farming. They also produce no waste or pollution, making wind farms very ecologically advantageous. In fact, eight out of ten people are in favor of using wind energy as their power source. wind energy is also completely renewable, as it takes no fuel or other resources that can be expended.
